Weekly Goal Update: Mar 19 - 25

March 19 - 25

Twelve weeks marked off the 2017 calendar!  This was an absolutely fantastic week for me with a mini Spring Break included.  I worked Monday and Tuesday but had the rest of the week off and it was so wonderful.  I was really busy, did lots of fun stuff, and ate a bit too much junk food.  Let's take a look back in this weekly goal update.

1. Make healthier food choices.
✅  This was definitely not my strongest area this week but looking back on my food photos, I guess I did okay at least while I was eating at home.

2. Exercise five days a week for thirty minutes (or a total of 150 minutes per week, 2.5 hours).

✅  I'm kind of proud to say that this was one of my strongest areas this week.  I was so active during my days off and it really added up to a lot of exercise.  I walked so many miles this week!

Sunday: --
Monday: 35 minute outdoor walk
Tuesday: 38 minute outdoor walk
Wednesday: 64 minute outdoor walk
Thursday: 36 minute outdoor walk
Friday: 66 minute outdoor walk
Saturday: --

Total time: 3 hours, 59 minutes

3. Get 10,000 steps six days a week.
✅  Kicked this goal's butt!  Not only did I get 10,000 steps seven days this week, but there were several days I got well over 10,000 steps as well.  And holy cow, look at Wednesday!  I got twice as many steps as my goal and set a new personal record for most steps in a day.  And I even earned the New Zealand badge in the FitBit app!  In total, I racked up a whopping 91,856 steps this week, equal to 35.14 miles or 56.6 kilometers.  I'm feeling like a bit of a rockstar in this department!

4. Go to sleep earlier.
🚫 Goal: Weeknights between 9:00PM and 9:30PM
My actual average bed time for weeknights was 10:09:53PM.  This week was a little weird because I only had to get up at 5:00 two mornings.  One morning I woke up at 6:00 and every other day I got to sleep in as late as I wanted.  But I still missed the mark by a bit on the days I needed to get up early.

🚫  Goal: Weekends between 10:00PM and 10:30PM
My actual average bed time for weekends was 11:15:34PM.  I did okay most of the time I was off but the night I was in Orlando, I didn't get to bed until 12:30 because we got back so late.  This week is definitely going to be a bit hard to get back into the routine of going to bed early and getting up early.

5. Leave some wiggle room.
✅  Oh Spring Break, we had a good time, didn't we?!?  LOL!  Having time off from work means having time to actually socialize and how do people socialize?  We eat!  I went out to eat so much this week and some times I was good and got a grilled chicken salad and some times I just felt like I wanted junk.  For the most part, I was much more active than usual so I didn't feel too terribly bad about eating a little more unhealthy.  But I know I can't make this a habit.  #springbreakcaloriesdontcount #wishthatwasactuallytrue 😆

6. Progress towards goal?
🚫  Once again, I didn't lose any weight but I didn't gain any weight either!  I'm actually pretty shocked about that because for most of the week I was weighing in about a pound and a half more than last week.  But I think a lot of it was the water I was retaining from all the salty foods I was eating.  Next week I need to eat healthier and try to not gain any weight from all the indulging I did this week.

Outfits of the Week: March 20 - 24

This week's outfits were a mix of work and casual.  I worked Monday and Tuesday but was off for the rest of the week for a little Spring Break fun.  It was a great week!  #springbreak

I don't know why, but I've really been getting more into black and white blouses lately.  I think they're just easy to style.  Wear them with black pants and a colored cardigan or with colored pants and a black or white cardigan and you have an instant outfit.  This one has a really cute design that looks sort of like little bow ties!

black cardigan - Banana Republic Factory

black buckle belt - Beall's Outlet

black cap toe pointed flats - Payless

This outfit had to work double duty.  I worked all day and then went to the movies with some friends to see Beauty and the Beast (❤️ ed it!!) and went to dinner afterwards.  And everyone loved the cute owls on the cardigan clip!

I decided to take the day off Wednesday and go shopping!  My friend M and I had been planning to do a trip to Orlando on Thursday of this week for a while, since we had Thursday and Friday off from work.  Our plan was to hit the outlet mall and then head over to the Florida Mall.  Then this week the forecast decided that the only day it was going to rain was Thursday, ruining our outdoor outlet mall plans.  Since it was Spring Break for all the teachers and students in the school district where we both work, we decided to just take Wednesday off (it was super slow anyway) and take our trip then!  I picked out clothes that would be easy to change into and out of when trying on stuff and sneakers because I knew we would be doing a ton of walking.  I got in over 21,000 steps or 8.03 miles (12.9 km) this day!  These Nikes are awesome and come in wide sizes.  My feet didn't hurt at all!

On Thursday I decided that since I had the day off, I would go for a long walk and then do some shopping for a couple of items I didn't find on Wednesday.  This is what I wore for both walking and shopping.  I wanted something that was comfortable to walk a long way but also presentable so I wouldn't have to change.  Enter in sneakers, comfy pants, and a tee.

On Friday, hubby and I had a walking day date.  By that I mean that the majority of our date during the day was spent walking.  We like to park at our local public library, stop in to the bookstore inside of it where they sell $4 books, and then walk the 1.5 miles to downtown.  On this trip, we stopped into a little Greek restaurant and shared an appetizer of fresh pita bread with three different dips: tzatziki, hummus, and melitzanosalata.  I wanted to wear something that was cool, casual, and cute.  Since we were doing so much walking, I stuck to wearing my Keds.  They're less bulky than running shoes.  Still, this outfit would have definitely been cuter with a pair of sandals but this is about posting what I actually wore, not what looks best.  Also, yes, these are the same pants I wore on Wednesday.

And because I actually went out and did interesting things this week with other people, here are some bonus pictures of me wearing Wednesday's and Friday's outfits.

Clothing Haul

In Sunday's blog post, I mentioned that I was going to Orlando this week to do some shopping with my friend.  And shop we did!  And then I did some more shopping the next day.  Now I'm here to share my clothing haul with you all!  I was on the hunt for: blouses, blazers or cardigans, shoes, and an affordable leather belt.  I didn't find everything I was looking for, but I did find a lot of things!  Let's start with what I found at Papaya, my favorite store for finding blouses for work.  I actually shopped three different Papaya locations.  I was pleased to find that each location seemed to have something different to offer!  In addition to Papaya, I bought some items from Vanity Fair Outlet.

Neon Pink Blouse
from Papaya
I love this incredibly bright pink blouse.  Even the camera wasn't picking up just how electric and neon this blouse is.  Pink is my favorite color and this bold shade makes a statement for sure.  Also, the necklace is removable and I actually really like it!  It's really simple and I like the black tassels.  This will make a great work blouse.

White Ruffle Sleeve Blouse
from Papaya
Recently, I got rid of my old white blouse, as it was not very white any more.  This simple blouse with ruffled sleeve detail is the replacement.  It's always nice to have a plain white blouse, as it's a great staple piece in my work wardrobe.

Floral Print Kimono
from Papaya
This is one item that was not at all on my shopping list but I decided sort of impulsively that I needed it.  I've wanted a kimono for awhile now and could never find one that looked decent on my petite frame but this one was just so cute.  Hubby and I have a date day planned for tomorrow and I thought this would be really adorable.  I really don't have a lot of casual clothes for things like date night so I either have to wear my super casual clothes that I only wear on the weekends to workout or I have to wear my work blouses.  I thought this kimono would be a good middle ground.  I could wear it with a tank top or tee for date night or I could pair it with a blouse for work.  I also loved how many different colors make up the floral print.  It could be paired with so many other things: navy, olive, peach, berry, black, and more!

Pink Floral Print Tie Neck Blouse
from Papaya
I have this same blouse in several different prints and colors and I just seem to love every one they make!  The tie neck adds a pretty detail that looks lovely with blazers and the fit is really nice on me.  I haven't met one yet that I didn't love!

Black and White Choker Tie Blouse
from Papaya
This is another blouse that has a tie neck but this one is more like a choker once it's tied.  I'm not sure I love the choker look for work but it would be cute untied as well.  And when it's tied I think it would make a nice date night blouse so it can work double duty.  Also, I find that black and white blouses are really easy to style either by combining with a colored cardigan or colored pants.

Striped Cuff Black Blazer
from Papaya
I used to have this same blazer several years ago and I loved it.  Then I ended up getting rid of it during a closet purge because there was awhile where I just stopped wearing blazers.  I really wish now that I hadn't gotten rid of it because I've been enjoying wearing blazers lately.  This one is great because it's not too formal so it's easy to style.  And I also like that you can roll the cuffs down and just have a plain black blazer.  I'm glad to see they are carrying these blazers once again because I plan on buying them up as I find different colors in my size.

Burgundy Floral Blouse
from Papaya
I am an absolute sucker for anything burgundy and this blouse had the lovely advantage of also being a beautiful floral print and on sale.  I think this blouse would look great with a blazer.  I also think it would look fantastic with just about any color of pants: black, grey, khaki, navy, olive, brown.  You name it and it would look great!

Dried Mulberry Zipper Detail Blouse
from Vanity Fair Outlet
This blouse (as well as the one below) are simple but I love the detail in the back.  There is a pretty exposed gold zipper.  I also like that among the many busy and loud blouses that I purchased, I was also able to find a couple of simple ones that I like.  It's nice to have a mix of both.  Also, I thought this blouse was a unique color and it also coordinates very well with the floral print kimono.  I think they would be really cute together with some skinny black ankle pants for work.  That may be the next item on my shopping list!

Navy Zipper Detail Blouse
from Vanity Fair Outlet
Same blouse as above but in navy.  Again, this color would also work well with the kimono.  I think this would look great with a blazer as well.

Navy Tank Top
from Vanity Fair Clearance Outlet
After stocking up on all sorts of work things, I thought it would be a good idea to pick up a couple of casual pieces that I could pair with my floral print kimono as well.  But I don't always want to pay a lot for things I know I can't wear to work since most of the time if I'm getting dressed, it's to go to work.  I found this cute navy tank top that will make for great casual wear for less than three bucks.  Good deal and I'm sure I'll get plenty of wear out of this as the temperatures heat up this spring.

Olive Green Tee
from Vanity Fair Clearance Outlet
This green tee was also less than three bucks and will go very well with my kimono.  I'm always looking for simple casual tees.  Whenever I go shopping, I'm always wearing a simple tee because it's easy to change into and out of when trying on clothes.  This one brings out my green eyes and makes them shine.

That's it for my haul!  Lots of new stuff for work and a few items that will make good weekend wear as well.  I can't wait to post some outfits with these pieces on the blog in the coming weeks so stay tuned for that to happen soon!

Weekly Goal Update: Mar 12 - 18

March 12 - 18

Eleven weeks down!  This one was busy but I knew that it would be.  I'm super glad it's over!  This coming week may be just as busy but it will be fun busy and less work/obligations busy!  Our school district is on Spring Break, which means little to us twelve month employees who don't get that time off.  It's just slower paced.  However, our Superintendent kindly gave us Thursday and Friday off!  Thursday, I'll be doing a day trip with my lovely friend M for some serious shopping!  It will be an early morning, a late evening, and a busy but incredibly fun day of shop 'til you drop action!  Here's to hoping I find some good stuff to post as a work clothes haul here on the blog.  Enough talk about this coming week.  Let's look back at what happened last week.

1. Make healthier food choices.
✅  I feel like I do pretty well with eating healthy at meals.  I've stopped eating the way I used to (All the deep fried things!  All the carbs!) and really started eating a lot more like an adult should.

2. Exercise five days a week for thirty minutes (or a total of 150 minutes per week, 2.5 hours).

✅  I knew this week in my personal life was going to be busy so I made a point to walk during my lunch break almost every day at work and to get up off the couch more on the weekends and walk around the house.

Sunday: 50 minute indoor walk
Monday: 15 minute indoor walk
Tuesday: 32 minute indoor walk
Wednesday: 30 minute indoor walk
Thursday: 38 minute indoor walk
Friday: --
Saturday: 40 minute indoor walk

Total time: 3 hours, 25 minutes

3. Get 10,000 steps six days a week.
✅  Met and surpassed this goal!  All those lunch time walk breaks helped!  And having a busy week after work meant I actually ended up averaging more than 10,000 steps a day which means I burned some extra calories too.  Don't worry, I made sure to consume extra calories to compensate.  😉

4. Go to sleep earlier.
🚫 Goal: Weeknights between 9:00PM and 9:30PM
My actual average bed time for weeknights was 9:48:32PM.  Womp womp!  This is the goal that I missed by a long shot, mostly because two nights this week hubby had extracurricular activities going on after his teaching day that kept us both up late.  Also, that whole incredibly stupid time change has my entire body's internal clock confused and annoyed.  Some nights I went to bed early but I just couldn't fall asleep!  My brain was convinced it was not bed time yet.  A restless week all around.

🚫  Goal: Weekends between 10:00PM and 10:30PM
My actual average bed time for weekends was 11:23:38PM.  A fun Saint Patrick's Day get together with friends on Friday night kept us out later that day.  Saturday I totally blame on the time change.  I went to sleep at the same "time" and woke up at the same "time" that I usually do on weekends... it's just that what the clock says is now different!  This will take some getting used to for sure.

5. Leave some wiggle room.
✅  Can you tell what happened here?  Lack of sleep left me desperately craving caffeine!!  I don't really feel too bad about it though.  Almond milk lattes don't have that many calories in them and they offer a serving of low fat dairy.  And while diet soda is caffeinated, it wasn't any additional calories.  Dessert added in a few calories but I felt like I had pretty good self control at the Saint Patrick's Day party when all the delicious treats were beckoning me but I restrained myself to just one mint Oreo truffle and just one cookie.  Pretty sure you'll be seeing more caffeine in next week's update as well though!

6. Progress towards goal?
🚫  I didn't lose any weight but I didn't gain any weight either!  I'm really less than a half pound from my goal weight so I'm not too concerned with what the scale is saying, as long as I'm not gaining.

Outfits of the Week: March 13 - 17

Did anyone else feel like the Daylight Saving Time change kicked their butt this week? I definitely did. I spent the entire week feeling tired! I'm so looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow.

I love that this blazer is both fun and professional. It fits me really well and it doesn't feel too stuffy. It's also light and thin enough that I can still wear it once it gets a little warmer here in Florida.

Black buckle belt - Beall's Outlet

Black pointed toe flats - Payless

Another blazer! This is another really well fitting blazer but this time it's a little more dressy. I tried to keep it peppy with a pretty pink and purple printed blouse underneath. I'm hoping that the lovely print will distract from my "too tired to do my hair" action happening on this day. No? Oh well. Stupid time change!

Wednesday was an outfit meltdown day for me. Outfit #1: I had originally planned to wear pants but decided since it was cold, I was going to wear fleece leggings and a dress. Outfit #2: The dress I originally picked out was a chambray button down shirt dress. This day was the second time I've put this dress on for work and felt so uncomfortable in it that I ended up changing. The dress is too short to really be work appropriate. It buttons all the way down and the buttons gap when I sit and then the dress stays misshapen after I get up. Guess which dress is going in the donation bag? But this black dress is plenty long enough, appropriate, and quite lovely for Outfit #3 and the final choice. Do you ever have those days?

On Thursday I decided to eliminate the outfit drama from my life and just wear something I knew I would be comfortable wearing. And no surprise, I loved this outfit! Which was good because I wore it for seventeen hours. Hubby had an after school performance that I attended directly after work and we didn't get home until 10 PM when my day started at 5 AM.

Olive green tie tank top - Kohl's
Burgundy window pane cardigan - Kohl's
Brown and gold compass cardigan clip - made by me

Happy Saint Patrick's Day! Friday was another outfit meltdown day for me. I started out wearing this green dress that I basically only wear on Saint Patrick's Day each year. After putting on the dress, I tried three different toppers (a denim jacket and two different black cardigans) before I decided I just flat out didn't want to wear this dress because the dumb elastic sleeves are so uncomfortable underneath of anything. Guess that must be why I never wear the dress! It was way too cold today to wear it without something over top so I just decided to change completely. Moving forward, I think I'll either have to cut the sleeves off, cut the elastic off the sleeves, or donate the dress completely. For this morning, it was easier in my sleep deprived state to just wear jeans. Maybe I'm due for another closet purge this weekend though.

Grey ribbed sweater - Walmart
Green om scarf - BuddhiBox, October 2016
Black skinny jeans - Walmart
Taupe ankle boots - Famous Footwear

In other news, I decided to change up my daily outfit photo grids to show more details of the outfit instead of showing the same basic picture over and over. Do you think that's more helpful? Or did you like the old way better? Let me know if you have a preference.

Review: Dermadeli Pumpkin Seed Serum

Dermadeli Pumpkin Seed Serum

Product Claims
According to Dermadeli's website,
"Pumpkin Seed Serum replenishes your skin’s hydration, immediate results can be seen and felt on dry skin. Pumpkin Seed Serum is absorbed by skin leaving behind an effortlessly soft feel."

$27.99 for 1 oz (currently on sale for $19.99) [link]

1. Miraculously hydrating 2. Non-greasy feeling

1. Slightly pricey 2. Can only be purchased online

Would I buy it again or recommend it?
Friends, if you have dry skin any where on your body, go get you some of this now!  This stuff is some sort of miracle in a bottle.  For the last few months, I've been suffering from dandruff in one random spot, just where my hairline starts at the temples.  Dandruff shampoo helped but didn't eliminate the problem.  If I went a single day without washing my hair (Who wants to wash their hair every day?), I would get dry flaky skin in that area.  But now I use just a couple of drops of this every other day and the dry skin is gone!  I have literally not had the dandruff since I started using this every other day.  Additionally, my husband was having issues with his hands getting dry, flaky, and painful on the palms of his hands.  He uses two drops of this mixed with Cetaphil moisturizing lotion and he won't have any dry skin for at least a week.  He swears by it now too!  I've even used it a few times in place of my moisturizer at night.  It's not greasy looking for being oil based but has just a glowy look.  When I run out of this, I will definitely be buying another bottle.  Although I may never run out because I literally only need a few drops when I use it and I don't need to use it every day.

*This product came in my October 2016 BuddhiBox subscription, which I paid for with my own money.

Weekly Goal Update: Mar 5 - 11

March 5 - 11

Ten weeks of 2017 done!  I was so happy for this past week to be over with already!  It was a long week at work and it was a long week at home.  This week coming will not be better.  ☹️  I'm just trying to slog through the next few weeks.  The plus side is that there is light at the end of the tunnel.  Hubby will be on Spring Break the week of the 19th so my personal life will lighten up with him around to help out more.  And his lacrosse coaching finishes up with the month of March so I won't be doing everything at home by myself.  Things can get back to my normal at home at least.  Pep talking myself into continuing to be an adult is getting harder so I'm looking forward to life getting easier.

1. Make healthier food choices.
✅  For the most part, eating healthy has become a part of my daily life.  I try to go out to eat less and when I do go out to eat, I try to make healthy choices.  It really does help to have some quick to make dinner options that are still healthy.  And according to these photos, I eat a lot of carrots!  🥕

2. Exercise five days a week for thirty minutes (or a total of 150 minutes per week, 2.5 hours).

✅  This week I really struggled with having the mental energy after work to set aside 30 minutes to devote to exercise at a time.  Instead, I found it much easier to break exercise into smaller chunks of five or ten minutes and spread it out throughout the evening.  So every thirty minutes or so I would get up and try to get 500 to 1,000 steps just by walking in place.  That made it more manageable in my head and helped me to keep going instead of just giving up on exercise completely.  Probably not ideal but better than nothing!  Though in hindsight, what I should be doing when stressed is more yoga, as that truly helps calm me and reduce my stress.

Sunday: 35 minute indoor walk
Monday: 20 minute indoor walk
Tuesday: 32 minute indoor walk
Wednesday: 38 minute indoor walk
Thursday: 26 minute indoor walk
Friday: 20 minute indoor walk
Saturday: 25 minute indoor walk

Total time: 3 hours, 16 minutes

3. Get 10,000 steps six days a week.
✅  Breaking up that exercise into smaller chunks really helped me to be able to get to 10,000 steps seven days this week.  I think that might have to be my strategy for the next few weeks as I deal with more stress.  I've noticed that when my life is mentally taxing, I just have a tendency to want to give up on my goals completely.  I guess it's my brain going into survival mode/poor pitiful me mode but I really need to do whatever I can to control it.  #nomorepityparties

4. Go to sleep earlier.
✅  Goal: Weeknights between 9:00PM and 9:30PM
My actual average bed time for weeknights was 9:19:39PM.  I had no trouble making my sleep goals this week, as I was more than happy to end each day as early as possible.  😆

✅  Goal: Weekends between 10:00PM and 10:30PM
My actual average bed time for weekends was 10:30:06PM.  Going to bed exactly at 10:30 Friday and Saturday night still counts as making my goal!  I really wanted to not stay up too late this weekend with the stupid time change happening.  It will already be hard enough trying to fall asleep an hour earlier each night.  #daylightsavingtimesucks

5. Leave some wiggle room.
✅  This is definitely where I stumbled this week.  I only had frozen yogurt two times but I had three homemade chai tea lattes (with this stuff, so good but not so good for you), some delicious chocolates that a friend brought back from her trip to Hawaii, and French Fries.  I really tried to be good when we went out to lunch that day and ordered the lunch special of what I thought was a side salad and half a sandwich on whole grain bread.  I did not realize it also came with a side of fries and that the sandwich was slathered in butter.  I eat the salad and sandwich but contained myself to eating only half the fries.  But I have poor self control and could only make myself stop eating the fries by covering them with my napkin.  Out of sight, out of mind!

6. Progress towards goal?
🚫  Last week I had mentioned that while I hit my goal weight on Saturday, I expected to bounce around a bit.  I need to really stay focused on my goals though so that I can stay where I want to be on the scale.  I'm currently up 0.4 pounds from last week and have lost a total of 9.6 pounds.  I really don't want to gain back all the weight I lost so next week I need to be a little more controlled in what I eat.  Hopefully the one good thing about Daylight Saving Time is that I will have daylight to go for a walk after dinner instead of trying to squeeze it in on my lunch break or before I eat.  And food always wins out over exercise in my life.

Cardigan Clips

I'm not a huge fan of jewelry.  I have very sensitive skin and sometimes even having jewelry come into contact with my skin can cause it to be irritated.  So when I saw this image of a character from Glee wearing a cardigan clip, I fell in love.  Jewelry that serves a purpose and doesn't touch your skin and can be worn with a cardigan?  Sign me up!  I wear a ton of cardigans to work and these pretty clips also serve a purpose besides just being decorative.  They also keep your cardigan neatly in place!  The only problem is that they are hard to find.  I bought my first one on Amazon but made all the rest myself!

Pearl Cardigan Clip
First, let's start with my very first foray into the world of cardigan clips, this pretty pearl one that I bought from Amazon [same].  I loved the simple design of this one but didn't love that it was nine dollars when I knew I had almost all the supplies needed to make my own for a lower cost.  I bought this one to get an idea of the size I needed to make mine and how it was constructed.  If you like the look of pearls, this is a great starter one!

Golden Snitch Cardigan Clip
Next I made this cardigan clip that is perfect for a Harry Potter nerd like me.  My husband had bought me a golden snitch bracelet off of Etsy for Christmas with the intent that I could make it into my own jewelry since I'm always doing crafty things like that.  The perfect time came!  All I had to do was remove the bit of chain on either end and connect it to the clips with a jump ring.

Mixed Metal Leaves Cardigan Clip
The next clip I made was a really simple one with dainty mixed metal leaves.  I just cut the chain to the size I wanted and attached it with jump rings.  This chain was purchased at Walmart [same] and was long enough to make about three clips.  I made one for a friend with this same chain.

Pearl Sparkle Cardigan Clip
This pearl sparkle cardigan clip was completely made by me.  First, I started by stringing pearl beads and crystal rondelle beads onto a clear monofilament string.  When I got to the end, I looped the clip through and then doubled back through half the beads.  I did the same thing on the other end of the clip.  When the two ends of the monofilament met in the middle, I tied them in a knot and used some super glue to adhere the knot.  Then I removed the button shank from the backs of these pretty pearl and rhinestone buttons.  Finally, I used some jewelry glue to adhere the buttons to the outside edges of the clips.

Pink Arrows Cardigan Clip
This is another cardigan clip that I made using the same method as the clip above.  I started with pink beads that were leftover from another project.  I used smaller rondelle beads to add some sparkle.  Finally, the arrow charms on each clip were charms like this that I cut the loop off of and sanded down the rough edges with a salon board nail file.  Then I glued them down using a hot glue gun.  I'm not sure how well that will hold in the long run but it's working okay right now.

Black Owl Cardigan Clip
I'm a total sucker for owls so when I saw these charms in Hobby Lobby, I knew I needed to make them a cardigan clip.  I had the black beads and rondelles left over from other projects so I just mixed whatever I had together to make this clip work.  And it's one of my favorites thanks to those cute owls!

Brown and Gold Compass Cardigan Clip
These gold compasses were too cute to pass up!  I just love how the gold compass goes so nicely with the brown beads, which were also a leftover from another project.  This clip ended up being an unexpected favorite among all the other pretty ones I created.  My history teacher husband loved it too!

Black Sparkle Cardigan Clip
As much as I love the fun metal charms, sometimes you just need a little sparkle!  This clip uses some of the same beads as the black owl clip but also has some bling on the clips.  Those were shank buttons that I purchased on clearance at Hobby Lobby and then cut off and filed the button shank down so the back was flat enough to hot glue onto the clip.  Pretty and sparkly for something a little more fancy.

Mixed Neutrals Cardigan Clip
This cardigan clip was really easy!  I just separated the chain from the rest of the beads (it was long enough to make two clips) and then attached each end to the clip using a jump ring.  Then I used the same buttons as the last clip but in a different color to decorate the clip.  Just like the last ones, I cut and filed down the button shank and hot glued the button to the clip.  Easy peasy!

There you have all of the cardigan clips that I currently own!  I say currently because I still have plenty of beads and clips left to make more.  I just need to find some different clip decorating buttons or charms and then I'll be back with the monofilament and glue!  Are cardigan clips something you would wear?  I'm definitely loving this vintage inspired jewelry!
