Another Outfit

Another outfit post for you today but I have to be quick because I have just a few minutes before I have to head out the door to my first meeting of the day.  I wanted to look professional again so I took inspiration from what all the men were wearing in my meeting yesterday.  Slacks with a dress shirt tucked in and a belt.  And my favorite heels again!  I'm ready to take on the world now!

Outfit of the Day

Wow, ten hour days are busy!  I'm kind of glad that next week is my last week of ten hour days.  This is what I wore to work today.  I had a meeting with some sales representatives and also several members of information services today and I wanted to look professional.  I really liked the outfit so I wanted to post it.  Also, I love these heels.  They are a practical height, easy to walk in, comfortable, were 50% off, and super cute.  How often do all those things line up in a shoe?  I want them in every color.

New Car

This week was so busy!  I started my new job on Monday of last week, which is always hectic.  But I'm also working four ten hour days a week for the next few weeks which makes my work days long.  To top it all off, I was having car issues with my old Hyundai Accent, which had over 100,000 miles on it.  The last straw was when I went to open the driver's side door on Tuesday after work and the handle fell off in my hand.  Done!  I knew the Accent's days were numbered but that just sealed the deal.  After driving my husband's 2009 Mazda 3 for the rest of the week, I sort of decided I could get used to that car, especially after test driving several other options through out the week and disliking all of them.  When I test drove the new Mazda 3, I knew it was meant to be.  So here you are seeing my brand new car!  Now that my car troubles are over, I hope to have a little bit more time to blog this week.  I never named my old Accent but I feel like this car definitely needs a name.  Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Date Night Outfit & Hair

Monday is my first day back at work.  I'm really excited not only to start my new job, but also to get back into some sort of normal routine after everything that has happened in the last few weeks.  Today, to commemorate the end of summer for me, Brian and I went out on a little dinner date.  Since I actually changed out of my pajamas for once, I figured it was worth taking a few pictures of my hair and outfit to share.

Outfit:
I wanted to keep the outfit simple since this was a pretty casual date but it was also absurdly hot here today.  This shirt is light and cool and the skirt is cute but has an elastic waistband that is perfect for dinner out but still looks like you tried.  Comfy, cool, and cute work for me!

cobalt polka dot top: Belk
black utility skirt: Kohl's
black peeptoe espadrilles: Boscov's

Hair:
I got my hair trimmed this morning and went just a smidgen shorter than last time.  She cut the layers shorter too and I'm not sure I'm loving that yet but the great thing about hair is that it grows back and mine grows fast.  It always takes me a few days to decide how I feel about new hair cuts.

I already had some texture spray and hair spray in my hair when I started.  I used a 3/4 inch flat iron to add a bit of wavy texture by just sort of turning the flat iron, starting in the middle of my hair section and stopping before the end.  Then I added just a spritz more of hair spray.  However, as soon as I stepped out into the humid air here, it pretty much fell flat and pretty straight again.  I should have probably stuck with my beach spray to keep the style locked in.

A Break

I'll be taking a break from blogging and YouTube as I mourn the loss of my beloved Daddy, shown here on my wedding day.  He was the most amazing, loving, wonderful Daddy a girl could ever ask for.  He was my hero and my heart is broken.  Please pray for peace and comfort for my family.
