A while back I had done a post about how I wear my makeup when I wear my glasses and was asked to do a You Tube video on that look, using a drugstore palette instead of Coastal Scents.  So here is the video!  Also, if you missed the original post, here is a link to it!

Conair Infiniti You Curl Styling Wand

I am really excited to share this product with you!  I recently purchased a Conair Infiniti You Curl Styling Wand (about $30 at Walgreens) and was really pleased with the results.  I have never had any success with curling or waving my hair with a curling iron.  It never seems to look quite right and the style falls out of my straight hair in no time.  I've had better luck with waving my hair with a straightener!  But here you can see I've acheived these beautiful waves/curls with the You Curl.

This curler has a conical barrel that is 1 inch at the bottom and tapers to 1/2 inch at the top.  It has no clamp, but rather, you wrap your hair around the barrel and hold it there.  As clumsy as I am, I haven't burnt myself, though you can purchase heat protectant gloves if you worry about burning your hand.  The iron has an adjustable heat setting that can go up to 400 degrees.  I use it at 360 degrees.  I would definitely recommned this to anyone looking to get pretty waves or curls that last.  As a side note though, I did curl the face-framing layers of my hair with a flat iron so they wouldn't be too curly and therefore, very short.  I think the variation in the size of the curl makes it look more natural.  I also used Redken Hot Sets #22 to help hold the style, yet still keep my hair touchable and soft.

New Earring Stand

As my earring collection has grown recently, I had to purchase a new stand that would hold more.  I found this super cute stand for $10 in the jewelry department of Walmart.  The top reads "live love laugh".  I thought it was really cute and also holds all of my earrings with plenty of room to grow!

My High End Collection and Dupes

Click here for my YouTube video on my very small high end collection, and some dupes for the products.  These are all items I purchased myself or received as a gift from a loved one.

New ELF 32 Video Tutorial!

I am currently working on editing and publishing a new YouTube video using the e.l.f. 32 eyeshadow palette!  I am really having a lot of fun trying to be creative and come up with looks using this palette.  I think this one would be great for Thanksgiving, fall, or just everyday.  The tutorial uses a lot of the brown and taupe shades in the palette.  Click here for the video when it's ready!

ELF 32 Palette Photos

This post was requested by Jasmine! :)  These are some photos of the ELF 32 Eyeshadow Palette.  I took them in natural sunlight to try to get the most accurate representation of the colors.  I love this palette for its versatility and price of $5.  I've done some blog posts and YouTube videos using this palette, including a Neutral Warm Look, a Metallic Shadow Look, and a Daytime Smoky LookThe first and third ones have YouTube tutorials linked through the post.  Also, I recently added a Golden Brown Look Post and Video.

I think this photo best displays the true shades of the shadows.

Facial Mask

I thought it would be wonderful to end my day with a relaxing facial mask.  I enjoy this one from Proactiv.  It's their Refining Mask (with sulfur).  It helps minimize and deep clean pores.  It's just ten minutes of me time and a great end to a crummy day.  :)

Natural Look Using Profusion 88 Palette

This is a pretty, natural look that I created using my Profusion 88 Pro Eyeshadow Palette.  I wanted to show that even though this is a very colorful palette, you can still create a neutral look.  Enjoy!

Instructions:
1. Prime eyelids.  I used Too Faced Shadow Insurance.
2. Apply shade #1 to lid.
3. Apply shade #2 to crease.
4. Apply shade #3 as a highlight.
5. Apply shade #4 to outer half of crease.  Then create an outer V.
6. Blend together!
7. Use shade #4 to line outer 3/4 of bottom lashes.
8. Use shade #3 to line inner 1/4 of bottom lashes.
9. Line top lashes.  I used Jordana Fabuliner Liquid Liner in Brown.
10. Line waterline with a white pearl pencil.  I used e.l.f.'s Eye Widener in Pearl.
11. Curl lashes and apply mascara.  I am wearing Maybelline Great Lash Big in Very Black.

If you're wondering what's on my lips, it's Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Gloss in Born With It.  It's a very natural shade that just adds a bit of shine.

Neutral Warm Look Using ELF 32 Palette

This is another look you can achieve using the e.l.f. 32 Eyeshadow Palette.  I love how warm and pretty this look is.  I think it's perfect for fall.

On my lips, I have Nyx jumbo lip pencil in Chestnut topped with Jordana pretty shine gloss in Lovely.  If you'd like to see detailed instructions on how to achieve this look, check out my YouTube video

Profusion 88 Palette

Okay, so I definitely don't need anymore eyeshadow anytime soon!  With everything I've picked up lately, I'm planning on waiting until Christmas to purchase anything else.  (I say that now, but we'll see!)  Anyway, I found this palette for a great price and couldn't resist picking it up.  I have two other smaller palettes from Profusion and they are really pigmented.  This brand also is selling items for the Holiday Season right now at Walgreens.  I can't wait to experiment!  For more info, check out my YouTube video about this product.

This is what the box looks like.

Dark Circle Solution!

I am very excited to share my latest find with you!  I have been frustrated with my dark undereye circles for quite some time now.  I've tried many different concealers with varying results but still never felt that any of them did a very good job of covering the dark blueish circles under my eyes.  Upon the advice of another YouTuber, I tried Pixi's Correction Concentrate in Brightening Peach.  This is available at many Target stores for $15.  I have to say, this is the only thing that has worked for me!  I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking to conceal blue-toned dark circles.  Check out the results and see for yourself.  I paired it with my Benefit Boi-ing Concealer and kissed those undereye circles goodbye!

Here you can see the Pixi and Boi-ing containers.  I don't really think the Boi-ing did all that much.  I really think you could still use your favorite concealer, as the Pixi did most of the work here.  I really like Maybelline's Dream Mousse Concealer also.

BEFORE: Dark undereye circles (This photo was taken with NO makeup on.)

AFTER: No dark circles  (This photo was taken wearing Pixi, Boi-ing, & foundation)

Makeup for Glasses Using 88 Metal Mania Palette

This is a two-fold tutorial.  First, it is great makeup for glasses.  Second, it shows a pretty way to use the Coastal Scents 88 Metal Mania Palette.

Makeup for Glasses Hints:
* Most glasses have frames that cut across the top of the eyelid, so don't worry so much about the shadow.  Concentrate instead on the bottom lashline, where a lot of attention will be drawn.  I like to use purple eyeliner, which is a nice contrast to my green eyes and green frames.  You can use any fun, bright shade.  This is a great time to try an unusual shade, as the glasses will tone the color down.
* Be sure dark circles are concealed, especially if you are far sighted.  Far sighted glasses often tend to make the eyes larger and more pronounced.  Near sighted glasses tend to make eyes look smaller.

Steps:
1. Conceal undereye circles.  I used Benefit Boi-ing Industrial Strength Concealer in Light.
2. Prime eyelids.  I used Too Faced Shadow Insurance and also applied a small amount underneath the bottom lashline.
3. Apply Shade #1 from CS 88 Metal Palette all over lid with a flat shader brush.
4. Apply Shade #2 to your crease with a medium shadow brush.
5. Apply Shade #3  to highlight using a fluffy crease brush.  Use same brush to blend colors together.
6. Line top lashes with a very thin line of NYC Liquid Liner in black.
7. Line waterline with Wet N Wild Kohl Eyeliner in white.  (This will help make eyes looker larger by creating the illusion that the whites of your eyes extend farther than they really do.  If you are far sighted, you may want to line with a dark shade instead.)
8. Line lowerlashline with a bright coordinating shade.  I used Jordana's Easyliner for Eyes in Purple Fusion, which is a super bright purple.  This step adds definition and attention.
9. Set eyeliner pencil with eyeshadow.  I used Shade #3 to go back over the Purple Fusion with an angled liner brush.  This step is optional.
10. Curl lashes and apply mascara.  I used Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara.

Finish with a look that exudes intelligence and sophistication.  Who says you can't be smart and gorgeous?  Total package!

Coastal Scents 88 Metal Mania Palette

If you keep up with my blog, you probably know that I've been loving palettes ever since I got one for my birthday.  I ordered this 88 Metal Mania Palette from Coastal Scents off of www.amazon.com. for $24.95 (and got free shipping when I ordered $25 worth of stuff!)  I love the wide range of shades, all highly shimmery.  What I like a lot about this palette is how wearable all of the shades are.  Let's face it, I probably wouldn't use neon teal or lime green all that much.  But shimmery pinks and browns... right up my alley!  Check back soon for looks using this palette!
